You want toilet paper or not??
I have hauled quite a variety of stuff the last few months. My favorite is probably toilet paper because it feels ethically justified. (Empty beer bottles, not so much.)
I think many car drivers forget that if we large trucks weren't in their way, slowing them down, there'd be no toilet paper at the stores for them to buy.
Most of the time I can just laugh at stupid drivers. But when I can't, I yell at them "You want toilet paper or not?!" I only wish they could hear me.
3/25: Milwaukie OR to Grantsville UT
I can't decide if it was good or bad that I couldn't accept the load from OR to PA. Timing between tonight's delivery and the morning pickup was too close to manage, so I lose a 3,000 mile run - through winter weather!
Freight is still tight: about 2/3 of drivers in the West have loads, higher percentage in the East, part of the appeal for the PA run. But I admit, I like the lower population density of the West much better! Wonderful drive through the Great Basin yesterday, today will be down the Columbia River Gorge.

3/19: Tolleson AZ to Summerlin NV
I missed a few runs:
3/14: Albany OR to Bozeman MT was cancelled when I got to the shipper. Prime example of why I haven't been posting promptly on assignment!
3/14: Wilsonville OR to Seattle-Edmonds-Woodinville WA then return to origin. Direct store deliveries, driver unload (manual pallet jack). Told driver manager "I tried it, I don't like it, no more driver unloads." I'm a driver not a schlepper. The truck does the schlepping... (grin)
3/16: Lebanon OR to Livermore CA. Drop at store in same dock space. Drop full hook empty drop empty hook full drop full hook empty. It went astonishingly smoothly, and receiver complemented me, said in 11 years she's never seen someone hit the dock marks first try! I didn't reveal my secret is simply go slow and correct 200 times.
3/17: Santa Clara CA to Tempe AZ. After needing 40 minutes to back out of the too-small truck stop parking lot where I slept, I was pretty happy with managing a very tight dock with fences, trees, and cars at delivery! By george, I may be getting the hang of this! All that practice, rather, experience, is showing.
Now I head up to Las Vegas area where I'll take 34 hours off and restock for the next string of runs.

3/12: Lewiston ID to Toledo OR
I got to drive down hwy 101 and oggle at the ocean this morning! And eventually will again on my way out once the computer decides where I'm headed next... Forced to take the scenic route by truck-unfriendly direct roads - shucks darn!
While I wait I have mail to read and a pork loin smelling good in the oven. Although a nap is tempting. Such a rough life!

3/1: Columbus NE to Redlands CA
I'd explain, but it would take too long. 3 issues to onroad in 36 hours is way too many.
Headed to CA, then up to ID for some admin stuff at 'home' terminal.
Few miles but long hours. Fall down go boom now. Thud.
